Junior Fundraising Manager

Fly high for charity!

Please Take Me There is a startup charity that offers free transport to people in need, giving them access to healthcare, new opportunities, empowering their lives. Please watch the short video on our profile page.

We are building a charity that reflects the values of a new generation of supporters and users. We are a transparent and inclusive organisation, and we evidence our projects with photos, videos, frequent reports and messages from the people we help.

Most likely, we are the smallest charity in the UK, but we bet that we are also the one that will give you the best experience. One day we are working on our programmes in the UK, Asia and Africa, the next day we are attempting to break a Guinness World Record to help raise funds for our work.

The position

We are looking for someone on a part-time basis (approximately 20 hours per week) for an initial 6-month period, with an opportunity for full-time work thereafter. Occasional evening and weekend work, as well as national and international travel may be required.

We are based a 2-minute walk from Cambridge train station.

Compensation is based on a £24.000 year pro rata salary.

Your cover letter is one of the most important steps. Please let us know why you want to work at Please Take Me There and why we should invite you for an interview. At this stage, don't send us your CV. Successful candidates will be contacted within 10 days of application. Click bellow or email us at

Your role

We're looking for our employee number 1 to help us to grow and help to build on the foundations of our organisation. This is a unique opportunity to get involved in the early stages of a new charity and help to shape an exciting project. At Please Take Me There, everyone has a vital role.

Although we are primarily looking for a fundraiser to help us with our most exciting programme, Fly Through Cancer, you will also get the chance to wear many hats by helping in programme management, events, marketing and communications. You will lead fundraising activities in the UK mainly, but also abroad.

For a junior professional, this job will give the successful applicant a fantastic opportunity to train as a future charity leader.

You are:

  • You know what you’re doing. You’re a true fundraising generalist with at least one to two years of hands-on fundraising experience in a broad range of areas. You have a strong understanding of fundraising for charities. You can handle just about anything that comes your way.
  • You love our supporters. You're passionate about giving every person who interacts with Please Take Me There, an unforgettable experience. You thrive on understanding what makes people tick. You’re keen to understand the motivations of our supporters, and then share that intelligence to help other teams develop stronger performing strategies.
  • You have a team ethos. You thrive in a creative, inventive, fast-paced start-up environment, with people who are passionate about their work and mission. You’re excited to work cross-functionally with other departments. You enjoy working with others to reach common goals and objectives. People enjoy working with you because they know they can trust you.
  • You value precision. You’re meticulous. You know accuracy is important regardless of whether anyone is watching, and you strive for excellence in every detail.
  • You’re a mentor. You enjoy managing and training team members and understand how to maximise their skills and strengths. You’re deeply invested in growing people, and in helping them bring new ideas to life.
  • You take the initiative. You see something that needs improvement, and you take action. You propose solutions to problems. You have a proven ability to plan, lead, implement and track marketing projects from concept through implementation. You’re proactive about making sure various departments have the information they need about your projects.
  • You're a communication ace. You know that the secret to success is keeping people in the know. You not only know what to communicate but when, how and why it’s important. You possess exceptional interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
  • Did we mention that… You shouldn’t be afraid to fly in small airplanes? Our programme “Fly Through Cancer” aims to make a small airplane available to sick children and their families. You need to have compassion, empathy and a willingness to learn about the children’s illnesses. You will have strong personal values that align with those of our charity.
